Terms of Service
Terms of Service
- Pricing:
- We require a one-hour minimum booking, which is sufficient for most weddings. One hour: $400. Two hours: $800. Three hours: $1,200.
- Extra hired time is charged at fifteen (15) minute intervals (no less).
- Attire
- Attire will be concert black unless otherwise specified
- Playing space and Seating
- We require approximately 8’x8’of space to play. Four armless chairs must be provided for the musicians, and adequate lighting to read our music.
- We are happy to play outdoors if discussed ahead of time. Level ground and an outside cover to protect the instruments, sheet music, stands and musicians from wind, sun, and rain (ex. gazebo, tent, oversized umbrella, etc.) are required. Performances may be moved indoors due to weather conditions. Temperature must be at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit for outdoor performances.
- Repertoire
- There is a repertoire list and guide on our website. If you would like a piece not on our repertoire list, we charge a $25 service fee to purchase or arrange music.
- Any lists of specific repertoire for performance must be submitted to the Mother Lode String Quartet no later than thirty (30) days before the performance date.
- Rehearsal
- We do not normally attend additional rehearsals or meet ups prior to performance at weddings or events. On the day for a wedding ceremony for example, we will liaise with the Planner and/or Registrar for cues and timing. If requested, one (1) representative member of the quartet can attend rehearsal prior to the performance for an additional fee of $50 an hour, for a maximum of 2 hours.
- If you absolutely require attendance and/or advice of the entire quartet at a rehearsal, we will quote you an additional fee plus travel costs.
- Changes to Total Time Hired (extension or Reduction)
- A time extension means you are increasing the total time hired, and is not limited to actual performance time. This includes (but is not limited to) any additional hired time requested by the hirer for practice, sound checks, run through, delayed start, or any other kind of time extension request made in addition to the original agreed hired time. Time extensions requested after the original date booked will be subject to an additional fee.
- Deposit and Payment
- A deposit of fifty percent (50%) of the agreed upon rate is due with this contract to secure your date. The remaining balance is at the event, prior to the performance. Once paid, the final balance is also non-refundable.
- Payment can be made by cash, check, Zelle, or Venmo. We do not accept credit card payments
- Cancellation Policy
- We require two (2) weeks’ notice of cancellation. Failure to notify of cancellation prior to two (2) weeks will result in forfeiture of fees paid.
- If due to vehicular accident, severe weather, or medical emergency the Mother Lode String Quartet is unable to attend an event, the aforementioned payments will be refunded and the quartet will not be liable for any damages resulting from this failure to perform.
